Our service has a number of accommodation and support options ranging from high support 24 hour units to shared housing and stand-alone flats with outreach keywork support hours to reflect the individual needs of each service user. We recognise that young people need to develop the knowledge, skills, abilities and confidence to meet the challenges of independence and achieve autonomy.
24 hour Semi-Independent Units – Currently we have 3 units based in Edmonton, Barking and Palmers Green. These units support young people ages 16 – 18 who come with complex needs and challenging behaviours. They are supported to develop their independent living skills to be able to manage their homes and lives once they leave care.
Outreach Semi-Independent flats – We have a number of standalone properties for the more mature young person who is better able to live without 24 hour supervision. These properties are offered with keywork support tailored to the individual’s needs.
Individual Support
- Managing domestic tasks – cooking, cleaning, laundry, budgeting, basic homecare tasks: changing light bulbs, plugs, unblocking sinks etc.
- Accessing education, training or employment – compiling CV’s, sign posting to job sites, training providers and support to attend interviews.
- Supporting young people to ensure that their physical, emotional and mental health is maintained. Access to health professionals to deal with concerns / issues – make referrals on their behalf, and support them to attend appointments and assessments.
- Accessing local leisure activities, encouraging hobbies and interests.
Our offices are located in Church Street Edmonton N9 where we also have a 5 bed 24 hour unit. Our 24 hour unit offers support for the more vulnerable Service User. In addition we have an adjacent 4 flat unit which offers semi-independent living for the more independent Service User. The Service has a team of professional workers who provide the main support and are dedicated to the development of the Service User. The service provided will focus solely on providing semi-independent accommodation and support for Service Users preparing to leave care.
All units have CCTV coverage of all halls and doorways to enable the security of staff and residents alike.
