For Young People
Q. Can you help me get a job or go to college?
Yes, Krossroads will be encouraging you to do something during the day to occupy your time. We will be working closely with the local colleges and your connections worker.
Q. Will I have to attend loads of meetings?
The main meetings that will take place are Reviews Planning meetings and PEP’s. We will only have meetings to ensure that we are keeping on track for your next move, and that you are receiving the initially agreed support. These meetings are not always easy, and can sometimes bring up some painful memories for you and your family. Experienced staff and managers will try to ensure all meetings take place in a supportive atmosphere where everyone’s contributions are welcomed and valued.
Q. Are there staff in the house all day?
During the day, there will be support workers and occasionally the managers on shift. During the evening, there will be support workers who will also be on site overnight. The house will have staff cover throughout the day and night.
Q. What if I want to make a complaint about Krossroads?
You can make a complaint to any member of staff including the manager. If you want to make a formal complaint then this should be put in writing and sent to your Social Worker. A meeting will be arranged with you to discuss the complaint; an investigation will then take place. All complaints will be dealt with as quickly as possible. You may also want to use your own local authority complaints procedure. Krossroads staff will assist you with making any form of complaint.
