Krossroads is an award winning semi Independent service which provides a high standard of accommodation and care, with tailored support packages for Service Users between the ages of 16 and 21. Krossroads aim to bridge the gap between moving from 24 hour residential or foster care to a reduced supportive environment in the community, emphasising on Service Users making decisions and taking responsibility for their actions.
We have developed from an organisation offering accommodation to Asylum Seekers in the 90’s. We were then approached by a number of local authorities to offer support to the asylum seekers.
In 2003 we opened our first 24 hour unit in South London. This was very successful and in 2008 we moved our operation to North London and opened what is now our head office and main 24 hour unit. In 2009 we acquired the building next door which contained individual flats, which we felt would be able to offer our young people a progressive step towards full independence, by lowering their support levels whilst being next door which was an invaluable safety net for them.
Over the last five years we have built up a substantial portfolio of accommodations, and have developed the reputation of being able to hold onto the more challenging young people with complex needs. The staff group is made up of 4 qualified managers and a team of qualified staff with various backgrounds and experiences i.e. mental health workers, YOT workers, therapeutic workers, drugs and alcohol workers to name a few. We are preferred providers for thirteen boroughs however our doors are open to all.
Mission Statement
Krossroads mission is to offer a bespoke accommodation and support service for looked-after young people preparing for independent living.
We aim to support their development and empower them to successfully progress and stay safe, be healthy, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and have economic well-being as prescribed by Every Child Matters.
At Krossroads, we strive to give our young people the best opportunities possible, to create a sense of community and to support them during a challenging period in their life. It is rewarding to see our young people develop and we take great pleasure in applauding them for their achievements.
Krossroads Ethos is to offer our young people a “positive parenting experience”. We do this by supporting our young people to:
- Build their confidence and self-esteem and to have positive morals and values.
- Develop and grow in a safe, secure and nurturing environment with boundaries.
- Educate and empower them to realise their full potential.
- Empower them to build resilience and equip them with the tools they need to enhance their personal dignity and life chances.
Our young people are the future and Krossroads' whole purpose is to assist in the achievement of positive outcomes for them.
